Terms of Service

What this is

Watarrka Waterhole Wildlife is a free, non-commercial hobby project. It livestreams a remote waterhole and publishes a timeline of wildlife detections. Using this site means accepting these terms.

Availability

There is none promised. The equipment is solar-powered and connected by satellite from a site that cannot be visited for months at a time. The stream goes down for weather, cloud cover, flat batteries, hardware faults and network outages, and may stay down for an extended period. The site is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind, and no guarantee of uptime, accuracy or continued existence.

Detections and descriptions

Detections come from the camera's own motion and object classification, which is frequently wrong — it reports movement as an animal, and animals as plain motion. Some detections carry a one-sentence description generated by an automated vision model. Treat both as best-effort labels rather than as records of fact. Nothing here is a scientific dataset.

Use of the material

The images, clips and video are published so people can enjoy and share them. You may view, link to and share them for personal and educational purposes, with attribution to Watarrka Waterhole Wildlife. Commercial use requires permission — write to the address below. Do not use automated tools to bulk download the media, and do not attempt to disrupt the site or the stream.

Wildlife and country

The camera operates in Watarrka National Park. Nothing on this site should be read as an invitation to seek out or approach the location or its animals.

Changes

These terms may change. The date above shows when they last did.
